About Us:
Diversicon is a small, serious, nerdy, fun Twin Cities area speculative fiction convention held in the late summer / early fall. Past guests: Kelly Link, Stephen Barnes, Tananarive Due, Melissa Scott, David G. Hartwell and many more.

Message from the Chair:
This year Diversicon is a part of the Minnesota Science Fiction Society. Small cons like our can stay alive with help. We’ve two wonderful local guests both with an impressive body of work. We’ve our usual mix of programing and fun. And please bring stuff for the auction and buy lots to support the con.

Guests of Honor:
Lyda Morehouse
Lyda Morehouse’s AngeLINK novels (Archangel Protocol, Fallen Host, Messiah Node, Apocalypse Array, Resurrection Code) blend cyberpunk technology and street culture with innovative religious themes. As Tate Hallaway, she has published the paranormal romance Garnet Lacey series (Tall, Dark and Dead; Dead Sexy; Romancing the Dead; Dead if I Do; and the series finale, Honeymoon of the Dead). Tate has commenced the Vampire Princess of St. Paul series (Almost to Die For, Almost Final Curtain and Almost Everything). She has recently added Welcome to Boy.Net to her bibliography. Her short fiction has recently appeared in the anthologies Breaking Waves, Northern Lights, and She Nailed a Stake Through His Head.

Naomi Kritzer
Naomi Kritzer’s short stories have appeared in Asimov’s SF, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Realms of Fantasy, Strange Horizons and Tales of the Unanticipated. Her novels Fires of the Faithful, Turning the Storm, Freedom’s Gate, Freedom’s Apprentice and Freedom’s Sisters. Her short story Cat Pictures Please won the Hugo and Locus awards. Other novels include: Liberty’s Daughter, Chaos on Catnet, Catfishing on Catnet. She has short story collections out: Gift of the Winter King and Other Stories, and Comrade Grandmother and Other Stories. Naomi lives in St. Paul with her husband and two daughters.

Posthumous Guests of Honor:
Diversicon observes the lives and works of two posthumous ghosts(?) of honor...

Andre Norton (1912-2005), Science Fiction Writers of America Grand Master and enrolled in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame. Norton also wrote under the names Andrew North and Allen Weston.

Hotel
The Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West is a con friendly hotel. It is located im Plymouth, just north of 55 at 494. The convention rate for single/double/quad rooms will be $119.00 + $9.00 plus taxes/night (approximately $141.65/night). The cutoff date for the D32 rate is August 15, 2025. Hotel reservations may be made by calling 763-559-6600 and requesting the Diversicon 32 room block. You may reserve your room online by visiting our Crowne Plaza Booking link. Once you enter your arrival and departure dates and the number in your room, clicking "View Prices" will display the Diversicon rate.

If people are interested in ride-pooling we might be able to help.

Programming
Programming will feature at least two solid tracks (about 50 items), including Guest readings and/or presentations; our usual lively mix of panels and discussions on SF in literary media, film, TV, and graphic arts; speculative science; alternative lifestyles; and—especially—multicultural SF. We’ll hold our annual Yugo Awards Book Review for ”Best SF Books That Should Have Been Written.” Other topics will include the works of our guests, both living and posthumous, and the fabulous SF Minnesota Auction. Diversicon is a fan-run conventsion; we depend on you for our programming. To submit ideas and/or to let Programming know of your interest in being on panels fill in and mail a “Blue Sheet” or email details to Eric M. Heideman and Scott Lohman at the addresses below.

SF Minnesota Auction
Our Saturday auction features books, DVDs/BluRays, artwork, and miscellaneous items, it supports Diversicon and it’s great fun! To donate items contact Eric or Scott.

Flash Fiction
The Flash Fiction Contest, introduced by Diversicon 16 Guest of Honor Anne Frasier, continues at D32 with judges Lyda Morehouse and Naomi Kritzer. We want stories up to 250 words (firm) related to the Convention Theme, The End of Everything (more or less). Entries will be judged on the creative interpretation of the theme, the quality of the writing, and emotional/intellectual impact. The winner gets a cool certificate, the honor of winning, and the opportunity to read your work out loud at our Auction Halftime Saturday night. Submit to diversicon@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time, August 20, 2025. No entry fee, but only open to attending members of the convention. Writers of any experience level may submit. The Diversicon Chair and Programming Director are ineligible. Authors retain all rights to their stories.

Hospitality:
Rich Brown will serve gourmet coffee and latte Saturday and Sunday mornings. Our Hospitality staff will offer light refreshments and genial conversation.

Krushenko’s:
Inspired by a Manhattan bistro in Larry Niven’s Ringworld, this floating space is for people who like to spend some time at SF conventions talking about SF. It started at the 1983 Minicon. Stop by for a mix of discussions and conversational parties.

Parties:
We like parties! If you and/or your SF-related group are interested in holding a party at D32, contact Eric or Scott at the address below.

Dealers
Our Dealers will get our $30 membership rate for each person working the table, plus $20 for the first table, $15 for the second table, if available. Space is tight. To get on the waiting list, contact Eric.

Art Display
Attending Artists get our $30 membership in return for agreeing to hang out in the Vendor Room for an hour on Saturday and talking about their work. The Attending Artists display rate is $1 per bid sheet (per piece). Walk-in art will be accepted from a non-attending artist or agent at the rate of $2 per bid sheet. Items that receive two or more Silent Auction bids will be included in the SF Minnesota Auction Saturday night. Contact Eric for further inor.

Program Book Ads
Advertise your event, service, or cause in the Diversicon Program Book. Ads are $50 full page, (8 ½ x 11—7 ½ x 10” screen); $35 half page; $25 quarter page. Contact Scott to arrange your ad.

Diversicon thanks the speculative fiction book discussion group Second Foundation for its donation.

Your group’s Supporting Organization grant of $25 or more helps support such projects as the Speculations Readings Series at DreamHaven Books; our annual Classic Horror Films Party; Diversicon Parties at other conventions; and Tales of the Unanticipated.
